Shirley Wilson Blake
Shirley is a native of IL, lived over 40 years in MN and now resides full time in FL. She graduated from the University of Iowa and did graduate work in Adult Education at No. Illinois University and University of Minnesota.
Shirley began painting in the early 1980’s, has studied with local, national and international artists. She has taught painting to others since 1987. She works mainly in acrylic on canvas but has a background in watercolor, mixed design elements and collage as well. Her painting style is abstract focusing on design elements, color and composition.
She holds signature memberships in the International Society of Acrylic Painters, International Society of Experimental Artists and Lifetime Membership in Minnesota Watermedia Society. She is a published artist in two abstract books and has received over 50 awards in art competitions and shows. Her most recent first place award was for the International Society of Acrylic Painters Annual Show.
